Electrical appliances, power tools, extension leads and other plug-in equipment can look perfectly serviceable while developing faults that are difficult to see. Testing and tagging provides a structured way to inspect this equipment, carry out the appropriate electrical tests and record whether it is safe to remain in service.

A smoke alarm is a small part of a home, but it has an important job. When people are asleep, they may not notice the smell of smoke or hear the early signs of a fire. A working alarm provides an audible warning, giving everyone in the property more time to respond and leave safely.

Safety switches are one of the most important forms of electrical protection in a home. Also known as residual current devices, or RCDs, they disconnect power quickly when electricity leaks from a circuit. This can reduce the risk of serious electric shock and may also provide some protection against electrical fires caused by fault current.

Your switchboard is the control point for the electricity used throughout your home or property. It receives the incoming supply, distributes it between individual circuits and contains protective devices designed to respond when something goes wrong. Although it is often out of sight, it plays an important role every time you turn on a light, use an appliance or charge a device.
